Marrying a Filipina bride (Part II)

Philippine culture molds a closely knit family. So if you are planning to marry a Filipina wife, expect families and relatives to share your joys. In your first visit to her Philippine home, you will be met with smiling faces of relatives and families - brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles - especially if the Filipina has a big family.

Some expects something. A gift or something. But this is really not necessary.

That's part of the Philippine culture. It's as if you will be marrying the entire family. If you are not comfortable with the presence of family members and relatives in your first visit, talk to you Filipina friend about it so she won't be offended. But it would be very unethical for you not meet her parents and siblings on your first visit.
